We are organising an exhibition hosted by the Association of Hungarian Artists and Applied Artists (MKISZ), showcasing the work of Hungarian and international type designers this time.

The exhibition's aim is to examine the differing perspectives and methodological approaches of contemporary international type design within a shared context. Rather than building on a single narrative, it is built on plurality: placing the works side by side creates a dialogue between different design traditions. This comparison sheds light on the technical and cultural factors that shape letterforms, and on how individual national schools influence one another. At the same time, type often remains invisible: it is rarely acknowledged that a brand's character and mood are shaped in large part by the typeface designed for it. The exhibition therefore also seeks to draw attention to this field as an independent and defining branch of applied art.

The exhibition will be curated by internationally recognised university educators, typographers and type designers who share a deep passion for typography and dedicate their work to teaching and advancing the field.

For submission, we welcome up to two posters per artist showcasing the typeface, along with a short text describing the concept behind the work and the commission it was created for. The artist's name and the year of creation should appear in the bottom right corner of each poster. We can only accept PDF files at 70 × 100 cm, 300 ppi, in CMYK, with no bleed. Please send your submission after receiving a curator's invitation, to the email address given below. In your email, please include your name and state which curator invited you to submit.

Submission deadline: 15 November 2026.

Exhibition dates: January 2027, Budapest, Hungary.
